Burkemont Baptist Church

Student Ministries

Burkemont has a long history of exciting ministry to youth, grades 7 through 12 and college students

18 to 24.  The purpose of this ministry is twofold: 1) to introduce young people to the Lord

Jesus Christ through a clear presentation of the gospel, and 2) to build young Christian

lives by helping them to become mature disciples.

These objectives are met through Christian Discipleship classes, weekly age-graded Bible

studies, mission service, fellowship and leadership opportunities. In addition these regularly

scheduled activities are Summer Camps, Mission Trips, a Fall Retreat, and a Winter Ski Retreat.

A third facet of our Burkemont Youth Ministry is ministry to parents. Parental involvement

is a welcomed and necessary ingredient to what we accomplish. Monthly planning and informational

meetings are scheduled to allow parents to volunteer services or give helpful feed back.

Parent - Youth mission opportunities and family oriented fellowship trips are two specific

ways we partner to influence our student population.

Student Ministries

Discipleship

Students meet weekly for Discipleship on Wednesday nights. We gather at 6:30pm in

the Youth Parlor of the Family for Praise and Worship. Our large group time Life Center

is followed by small groups divided by age and gender where we apply biblical truth to

a variety of topics. We also look at the basics of the Christian faith and what it means to

be a believer.

Missions

Quarterly outreach projects for our church and community are planned for students and

their families. Through service at Burke Mission Soup Kitchen, Habitat for Humanity or

the Salvation Army, along with service to our Senior Adults, our students live out their faith.

Seasonal projects with Samaritan’s purse and Summer projects with World Changers

complete the scope of our mission effort.

Fellowship

Concerts, Monthly Sunday School Celebrations, Ski Trips, White Water Rafting and

Seasonal Retreats are just some of the exciting things we do to build our family of

faith and create life-long relationships with one another. Our activity calendar is

pretty full and provides a great variety of options for both family and youth only fun.
